Phil and Tiffany met in 2011 at Chinese Christian and Missionary Church, when Gavin Fung brought Phil to church.
July 2011
After getting to know each other as friends and brothers and sisters in Christ, Phil and Tiffany started dating on August 23, 2012.
August 23rd, 2012Throughout the years, Phil and Tiffany shared many of life’s important moments together, such as, Phil’s baptism, Tiffany’s undergrad graduation, and Phil’s Master’s graduation. Phil and Tiffany also enjoy traveling the world and exploring local eats such as going on cruises to the Caribbean, traveling to Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Prague, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Throughout The YearsIn May 2015, Phil and Tiffany traveled to Riveria Maya, Mexico with their parents to an all inclusive resort. They all had a wonderful time enjoying the unlimited food and drinks, beach, trip to Chichen Itza, and the beautiful and relaxing scenery of Mexico. They knew this was ultimately the place they would like to get married at.
May 2015
Phil knew that Tiffany was the one ever since they first started dating. After three and a half years, Phil proposed to Tiffany on Easter, March 27, 2016. On that date, he had Tiffany go through an elaborate scavenger hunt adventure that afternoon where she met some of her best friends along the way. The locations Tiffany stopped at were places that had a big significance in their relationship. She finally ended up at the DC Tidal Basin where Phil popped the question. The cherry blossoms were in peak bloom and the timing couldn’t have been better.
Phil and Tiffany look forward to spending the rest of their lives together and the fun adventures to come :)

Thank you for shaping and mentoring us to the people we have become. We are grateful for the love and support over the years. We are overjoyed to join the two families together and look forward to honoring you together. We love you.
Love always,
Tiffany and Phil
Best Man
It is no surprise that Eric has known Phil his entire life since he was born. Eric has seen Phil grow up and has been there for him every step of the way. He has also witnessed all of Phil’s greatest life moments, from seeing him ride his bike for the very first time, to watching him propose to Tiffany. Eric has showed him the ropes throughout his life and has truly been a wonderful role model to Phil. Phil appreciates all the sacrifices that Eric has made and Phil thanks their parents every moment for blessing him with an amazing older brother. He looks forward to having Eric by his side on his wedding day as his best man.
Maid of Honor
Mindy and Tiffany have known each other since 4th grade and have been best friends since then even though they never really had a class or went to college together (unless you count “Behind the Wheel”). For as long as Tiffany can remember, Mindy have always baked her cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc. almost every single time they meet. Even though Mindy is younger than Tiffany, Mindy is always the sound and sane one of the two. Mindy never fails to be there for Tiffany for life's ups and downs.
Angela Cho
Tiffany first met Angela when they were in middle school at Lake Braddock in Ms. Holmes’ orchestra class. Angela was like a red bomb with her vibrant red hair, cello that was larger than her (she was a passionate and talented cellist), and genuine and honest personality. Angela used to tell Tiffany, “FUNGus, look! I dyed my hair so much that it is stretchy!” That pretty much sums up their fun filled friendship.
Carmen Kuang
Carmen joined the 1221F apartment family at JMU and was classmates with Tiffany. They shared many nights coding Java programs (though Carmen was always the destined programmer), many mornings knocking on each other’s walls to wake each other up for classes, and sharing tips on classes. Recently, she even became colleagues with Tiffany! P.S., thank you, Carmen, for also building this awesome website!
Kelsey Wilson
Kelsey and Tiffany met and bonded over music, from playing violin in Ms. Holmes’ orchestra class to being roommates in Europe for a summer orchestra tour to performing and twirling flags on the Color Guard team to auditioning as a duet for the senior solo spot, Tiffany shared many important high school moments with Kelsey.
Linda Zeng
Tiffany and “Mama Zeng” first met at a church retreat back in high school, reunited at JMU after losing touch for a few years, and moved into 1221F together at JMU. Linda is that sassy, but supportive friend that every girl needs.
Phoebe Liu
Phoebe is not only Tiffany’s cousin, but also Tiffany’s neighbor. How many people can say that their cousin lives down the street from them?! It makes those late night shopping trips a lot more spontaneous. Tiffany is thankful and blessed to have a supportive and loving cousin to share her special day with.
Robert Park
Phil’s friendship with Park started when Phil bought a copy of the Starcraft computer game from him in 6th grade. Their friendship grew when they attended the same middle school and high school. They bonded even further when they studied the same engineering major at UVA and endured some tough all-nighters together. Although Phil and Park finally decided to take different paths after college, their friendship today has never been more genuine as best friends since childhood. By the way, they are still playing Starcraft today (Starcraft 2 that is).
Brendt Harris
Phil instantly bonded with Brendt when they first met in their freshman year dorm at UVA. Their friendship matured through college especially when they were roommates during the final two years of school. Brendt has particularly been an avid supporter of Phil’s beatboxing skills who never missed any of his acapella concerts. He even praised Phil whenever he started to randomly beatbox in their apartment. But more importantly, Brendt was there for Phil during his highs and lows of college and could not ask for a better friend. Phil also looks forward to being a part of Brendt’s wedding in October.
Bjorn Thorsen
Bjorn was also one of the first friends that Phil made in college. They lived in the same dorm with Brendt during their first year. Bjorn was always there for Phil, especially when it came to editing his papers. Phil didn’t think that engineers needed to write in engineering school but he was very fortunate to have Bjorn around to bail him out at times. Bjorn and Phil were roommates during the last three years of school and shared many fun memories together. Bjorn will never forget hearing Phil’s hip hop violin playing and of course, his beatboxing, through his bedroom wall. Above all, Bjorn is a wonderful friend will always look out for Phil’s best interests.
Monty Johns
Phil also met Monty during his freshman year at UVA. Monty was only one of the few who had a car during their first year at college. He always drove Phil around while everyone else had to take the bus. Phil will also never forget all the times that Monty helped Phil on his computer science projects as he often struggled to grasp the concept. Something noteworthy about Monty is his passion for weightlifting, which really motivated Phil to get into this quite strenuous sport. They had countless gym sessions together during college and Monty made sure Phil never missed any gym time. Remarkably, Monty still checks on up Phil to make sure he is still hitting the gym these days even though they are states apart from each other. Monty is a great personal bouncer and trainer, but on a more serious note, he is a great friend who will always have Phil’s back in any situation.
